Chicago non-profit

Last night I was welcomed to celebrate and support yet another wonderful Chicago nonprofit – Child’s Play Touring Theatre. Their event, entitled “Global Energy – The Musical” celebrated the organization’s 30th anniversary. The Microsoft Offices of the AON Center lent their beautiful space as a backdrop for the over 150 guests in attendance for a silent auction, raffle and live performance by the Child’s Play Actors. June Podagrosi, the Executive Director of Child’s Play, said they were hopeful to exceed their goal of raising $50,000 from the event.
Among those in attendance was the Representative of the 39th district Maria Antonia Berrios, former State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, and WBBM-TV news anchor Walter Jacobson – who was being honored with this year’s Victor Award for his devotion to the organization.
